Grandma and Grandpa's visit

Grandma and Grandpa came up to stay with us for a weekend in mid-August. It was a fun time....we got out on the pontoon a few times and the weather was wonderful. The girls get a little bored out on the boat unless they have something to do....and they love tubing!!

Photos from our weekend in Green Bay

A bunch of former neighbors went with us
to Hooter's....kind of a new tradition for us. The Hooter's girls showed all the kids how they take orders there...they didn't think that seemed too hard..,uh oh....

Steve and Joe took Corinne and Aly to the 1st Packer preseason game.

Caroline and Natty at Bay Beach.

Some pictures from Hannah's baptism

Party anyone??

The girls had a playdate last Sunday with some friends from school who happen to be sisters the same age as the girls.

This is the message Corinne wrote on their dry erase board in our entryway. Click on the picture to enlarge it if you can't read it. I thought it was cute.....but kind of scary too....already has the concept of friends coming over it's a party....we're going to have to work on that....

Busy week

It's been a busy week here as I've been working every day and Steve's completely out of contact as there is no phone at the cabin in Canada. Hope he's had fun, but we'll be happy to have him home!!

Homework is in full swing at our house and the girls had to each make a scrapbook page of themselves for their class with of course a little help from mom, but the girls have had a lot of practice scrapbooking at Jamie's all summer, so they've pretty much got it down. Caroline already turned hers in so, I will get a picture of hers at school and post later.

The girls are loving school so far and both have seem to adjusted well. Steve comes home tomorrow but at least I should be able to get the house cleaned and laundry done by the time he gets here. That's the plan anyways....we'll see how tomorrow goes. I might get to start volunteering with Corinne's school tomorrow and have some errands to run....

Lost teeth

Corinne and Caroline both lost some teeth recently and wanted to show off their new looks.

Caroline lost her bottom 2 front teeth. One the week before school started and the other on the second day of school. The second tooth was very loose and on the first day of school, Caroline told all her new friends and her teacher, Mrs. Feddersen, that she was going to lose her tooth that night. So....I had to pull it out otherwise she said she would have LIED to EVERYONE. There was no going back in her mind....it was coming out as she couldn't go to school the next day with it in there. Luckily, it came out quite easy and I do like that she lets mom pull her teeth out.

Corinne on the other hand, has to pull her own teeth. She's pulled 5 out of 6 teeth on her own....Aunt Julie got to get one out. She was so determined to get the tooth out that Aunt Julie pulled she actually got Grandpa Jim a needlenose pliers and let him try to pull it out with that.

Steve left for Canada this morning with his friend, Troy, for a week of fishing and relaxing. Troy came and stayed last night and it was great to see him again and catch up. Steve was up at I think 4 this morning as he was so excited to go. I had to give him a quick lesson on my older digital camera as he wanted to try it out. We'll see how it goes.... maybe have some pictures when he gets back.....the batteries were dead so I sent the recharger and hopefully he was able to get that to work with the generator and figure it out. I am sure the lesson would have been better had it not been so early in the morning...

The girls and I are just relaxing today. Caroline's kind of had a cold and hasn't been feeling the best, but I think she may be on the rebound. She was up early this morning as usual, but has been wanting to play a little more than the last few days when she was just resting.

Corinne came in and cuddled with me and we then we played on the Wii a little bit. Now the girls are over at the neighbors playing for a little while. Guess it's a good time to get the laundry done...

shower remodel

Here is a look at our new master bath shower remodel. The first picture is looking into our old green tiled dark shower. The rest of the pictures are of the new finished product. Nicole tore out all of the old tile over Labor Day Weekend and we had the work done last week. As it seems to go with all of our remodeling projects there were a few glitches....screw was stripped in the original faucet so we had to buy a new faucet and hire a plumber to come cut out the old one and then replace some pipes to get it all hooked back up....1 day of work lost and unexpected costs due to buying faucet and paying plumber......floor tile we picked out took too long to order, so Nicole had to run to EC and try to find one that would match and then find out that floor tile is not a stocked item, but a special order, but we lucked out finding one that worked that just happened to have been in stock.....2 more days of work lost. But at long last it is done and we love it!! It is much lighter and coordinates with the white tile floor in the bathroom. You'll have to come over and check it out.

Packer/Viking game day

Today the girls and I all got all dressed up in game day gear to go to work and school. It was pretty fun!! And the best part of course was that the PACKERS WON!!!

Time to start our own blog

Thought we would finally get on board with the rest of the family and start our own blog. The girls started school this week. Caroline is now 6 and in kindergarten with Mrs. Feddersen (the same teacher Corinne had.) She has her own website link to their classroom that you can follow along the school year with. It is http://ilearn.sdmaonline.com/~kelly_feddersen

Around the beginning of each month, she updates the website with pictures of the prior month. If you click on the month name at the bottom of the main page, you can check out the pictures. I added the site to our "Favorite Websites" on this blog. Check it out!!!

Caroline was a little nervous about starting school, but seems to be enjoying it so far. There are a couple of kids from her preschool in her class and she knows a lot of kids from school from other activities and hanging out in Corinne's classroom last year with me.

Corinne started 2nd grade this year with Mrs. Miller as her teacher along with Mrs. Holmstatd who job shares with Mrs. Miller and teaches every Friday. Corinne likes school and her goal this year is to learn to add and subtract BIG numbers without counting on her fingers. Corinne likes to read especially the Magic Treehouse book series right now.
